Using netstat


The netstat utility is another powerful tool in your virtual toolbox.
This utility can do the following:



• List network connections
• Display your routing table
• Display information about your network interface




The syntax for using netstat is to enter


netstat option


 at the shell prompt. You can use the options listed in Table 15-5.




In addition to netstat, you should also be familiar with traceroute.
